Ep. 83 - Matt Bliss - Modern Christmas Tree

The first Modern Christmas Tree was designed by Matt Bliss's grandfather, Lawrence Stoecker, an engineer and architect in the 1960's. The minimal yet ornately designed Christmas tree had left a long-lasting impression on Matt as a child.

In 2011, inspired by his grandfather's work, Matt left a successful career as a mortgage-broker to bring his grandfather's vision and legacy to the public.

"I took my trees to many trade shows because I had to find out: am I doing this business just to honor my grandfather? Or because I love it too? It didn't take long before I knew I loved it as much as he did."

10 years ago Matt took his product (which was passed down from his late grandfather) to trade shows, but not to see if consumers liked it
