Janet Wu is the Founder of SilkRoll. She was born and raised in China, educated in the UK, and spent the 1st decade of her career as an investment banker at Deutsche Bank and Bank of China helping companies raise debt financing from the international capital markets.
Her love for traveling led her on a six-month soul-searching trip to South America, where she discovered her passion for making a footprint on environmental and social sustainability. Before founding SilkRoll, Janet cut her entrepreneurial teeth as the CFO of One Earth Designs, an early stage clean-tech startup backed by Mark Cuban whose mission was to bring renewal energy into everyone's backyard.
"Submitting all the paperwork and working weekly with the producers was like a part-time job. But we loved our producers — they were very supportive and accommodating for us. It was a great experience."
