Curt has been an entrepreneur since 1979 but it wasn't until he got into olive oil in 2003 that made him an overnight success! He spent 10 years peddling his own brand of spices from the trunk of his car, driving 40,000 miles a year around the great State of Wisconsin.
On a trip to Poland in 2003 he saw bulk olive oil and vinegars being sold and he wondered why no one was doing the same in America. He and his wife Amy Jo opened the very first Olive Oil Bar in the US in an unincorporated town in NE Wisconsin. Curt was featured on Shark Tank in 2014.
"We prepared ourselves and the franchisees for 4,500 orders when we aired — we ended up getting 450 orders — everyone was interested in the franchise opportunity."
